Microblading & Permanent Makeup · Costa Mesa, at South Coast Plaza

Brows so natural, nobody can tell.

Nona has spent 12 years and thousands of hours doing one thing: brows that look like they grew there. No harsh block. No gray-blue fade. Just you, minus the twenty minutes a morning with a brow pencil.

The Portfolio

Healed work, not just fresh.

Fresh brows flatter every artist — the pigment is dark, the strokes are crisp, the photo looks great. The truth shows up weeks later, after healing. That's the only photo that matters, and it's the one Nona builds her reputation on.

Brow Corrections

Half of Nona's clients arrive from another artist's chair.

Brows that healed too dark. Strokes that blurred into a block. Pigment that turned gray, blue, or orange. Shapes that never matched the face they were drawn on. Nona has spent much of her 12 years quietly fixing all of it — which is exactly why her own work is so careful in the first place.

Every correction starts the same way: send photos of your bare brows, and she'll tell you honestly what's possible — whether that's a color correction, a reshape over the old work, or waiting for more fading first. No guesswork, no overpromising.

What to Expect

Nothing permanent happens until you approve it.

1

Consultation & mapping

Nona measures and draws your new brows on first — shape, arch, and color matched to your face and your natural hair. You look in the mirror, you adjust anything you want, and nothing starts until you love what you see.

2

The session

Plan on two to three relaxed hours. A strong medical-grade numbing cream goes on first and stays ahead of the work the whole time — most clients say they barely felt anything, and more than a few have fallen asleep.

3

Perfecting session

Six to eight weeks later, once your skin has fully healed, Nona refines anything that softened during healing and locks in the final result. This second pass is what separates brows that last from brows that fade unevenly.

About Nona

Twelve years on one craft.

Nona has been doing permanent makeup for over twelve years — long before microblading was a trend, and long enough to watch trends come, go, and heal badly. She works alone, by appointment, from her private suite at Sola Salon Studios in Costa Mesa, minutes from South Coast Plaza.

Her philosophy is simple: the best compliment a brow can get is that nobody knew. That's why she maps every face by hand, mixes pigment for your exact skin tone and hair color, and turns down looks she knows won't heal well — even when a client asks for them.

She also works with clients navigating alopecia, chemotherapy, and thinning brows — restoring not just hair, but the feeling of looking in the mirror and recognizing yourself.

Questions, Answered Honestly

Everything clients ask before booking.

Will it look natural? I don't want dark, thick, or blocky brows.
That fear is the most common one in Nona's chair — usually from someone who's seen (or worn) bad work. Natural is her entire specialty: individual hair-like strokes, pigment custom-mixed to your coloring, and a shape drawn on and approved by you before anything permanent happens. Half her clients come to her specifically to fix brows that were made too dark elsewhere.
Does it hurt?
Very little. Nona uses a strong medical-grade numbing cream before starting and reapplies throughout, so it stays ahead of any discomfort. Most clients describe light scratching at most — and some genuinely fall asleep mid-session.
How long does the appointment take?
Plan on two to three hours for a new set of brows. Much of that is the careful part — mapping, drawing, and adjusting the shape with you until it's right. The perfecting session at 6–8 weeks is shorter, usually around an hour and a half.
What is healing like, and how long does it take?
Your brows will look darker and bolder for the first week — that's normal and temporary. They'll lightly flake and soften over days 5–10, then the true healed color settles in over about 4–6 weeks. Nona sends you home with simple written aftercare and is a text away the whole time.
When can I wash my face? How long do they need to stay dry?
Keep the brow area dry for roughly 7–10 days while the skin closes — you can wash the rest of your face normally, just carefully around the brows. Nona walks you through exactly how at your appointment, including how to cleanse the area the right way during healing.
Can I go in the sun?
Avoid direct sun, tanning, and swimming during the 7–10 day healing window. After healing, normal life resumes — though sunscreen over your brows will keep the color true for longer, the same way it protects any tattoo.
How long do results last?
Typically one to three years depending on your skin type, sun exposure, and skincare routine. Most clients come back for a color boost every 12–24 months to keep the color fresh — far simpler and quicker than the original session.
I had my brows done somewhere else and I hate them. Can you fix them?
Very possibly — corrections are about half of Nona's work. Text or DM clear photos of your bare brows (no makeup, no filter) and she'll tell you honestly whether they can be corrected now, whether they need to fade more first, or what the best path looks like. Honest answers, even when the answer is "wait."
